4040 Solenoid Valve Assembly Review

The purchase experience was good.It took about a week to get the part and it appears that most of that time it was in transit.This is long but not a big issue.

There was no documentation that indicated that the valve had an input and output (i.e. flow direction).There also wasn't any indication that the valve can be mounted in either a left or right orientation.As it turns out, there is an arrow on the valve that indicates flow.Additionally, there is a screw on the side of the valve that allows it to rotate allowing either left or right mount.

In the end, this is a good product with nice features and better documentation would make this an EXCELLENT product overall.

Seems to help with my husbands sinus problems but we found that when the furnace is on it doesn't keep the humidity at the level it is set at. My husband still experiences some sinus problems at those times. We have it in a 600 sq. ft. bedroom and was a little disapointed in the fact that it is suppoes to have a coverage of 750 sq. ft. as advertised. As far as an Air Washer goes, when the humidity is low and the Air-O-Swiss isn't running it isn't washing the air. I'm not so sure that I wouldn't go with seperate items if this is what one is looking for.

Honeywell H12007 Replacement Filter for Dirt Devil F1 - Most Bagless Uprights - HEPA Media Review

I was reluctant to purchase the Honeywell filter for my Dirt Devil because of the review stating it was shipped in white paper.I ordered two, both came in the standard Honeywell packaging pictured, so I was very glad about that.These filters used to be sold by Walmart for about $20. The filters are much better quality than the ones Walmart is selling now (Arm & Hammer) for the same $20. These Honeywell filters are the closest ones I have found to the originals and they are good for one year as opposed to six months for Arm & Hammer filters.And this is the cheapest price I have found for a good quality filter.

Humidi Heat Review

This device works really well. We have fairly mild winters here but I was looking for a heater and humidifier and decided to go for humidiheat instead. I am happy with my purchase but wish that it had a thermostat as well so that it could shut off automatically to maintain a specific temperature.The humidifier feature works well. It is the only heater we use for a 600 sq ft area and it works just fine.

I suffer from strong pollen allergies (watery eyes, itchy throat, itchy body, even mild asthma...).
This year has been particularly bad so far, despite a heavy use of anti-allergy medication like benadryl.
Last week I decided to buy this Holmes air purifier, to see if that works. And, surprisingly I must confess, it is actually very efficient against airborne allergens: I placed this unit in my bedroom, and I had no problem sleeping at night. My itchy throat and watery eyes completely disappeared. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.
The only issue I see is that the unit is a bit noisy, but that does not prevent me from sleeping (it's like having a A/C unit on, you get used to the noise). So I recommend this air purifier for people who suffer from pollen allergies.

This filter by BestAir is thinner than the Vornado brand, however I have found that makes no difference. Both brands get stiff with minerals at the same rate, and both get smelly after they've been filtering the air for a couple of months. Buy the cheaper one.

Very reasonable cost.. "I bought two".
It moves air very silently on low and medium to high settings moves a large volume of air and has a very soft and pleasant breeze too.

It can handle frequent door openings as some ion models cannot handle introduction of new "unclean" air into the room without taking a fair amount of time to "reclean" the room.

This handles a large amount of air very quickly when on high and gives off a cool refreshing breeze with a fresh smell.

The Photo catalyst technology is state of the art and the UV technology is great for those who worry about live viruses and bacteria spreading through the family. No filters to replace, but merely vacuum and no blades to replace.

The UV light recommended for killing germs and you have a choice for optional use. If used constantly for about 2 years, the manual recommends replacing to maintain maximum killing power against germs.

For 100 bucks, you can't beat the coverage and "attack on 3 fronts" technologies to keep your room allergen free.
If your room takes allot of abuse from animals, fans, open doors etc.. get this.

If you prefer total silence all the time, I recommend the ION Turbo, but remember its drawbacks as mentioned above.

I don't like the idea of "finding" replacement filters and paying for them as some other models require.... nor do I want to replace blades as the ION turbo requires after about 2 years.

Blueair 501 Console Air Purifier Review

The Blueair company is a wonderful company to work with and helped settle my issues. I ordered 2 of the 501 units with replacement filters sight unseen based on user reviews. This is a very quality built unit, but the speed settings on the fan are far from usable. The lower speeds barely move enough air, yet the high speed is so noisy that you will think a tornado is in the room with you. The company gladly exchanged my 2 501 units with the 400 series units. The 401 units are far quieter and way more efficient in the way in which it moves the air, so order the 401, you can't go wrong. Keep in mind the 10 year warranty is only applicable if you can prove that you purchased and changed the filters every six months, if not no warranty exists, and the filters are not free, but affordable.In my opinion the 401 is the way to go, stay clear of the 501's due to the noise and air flow design, the Blueair company is second to none in customer support and are highly recommended. Thanks Blueair for helping me get it right....This is one heck of a company that will take care of it's customers. Also keep in mind when you order a Blueair purifier unit, one filter set will come included with the applicable unit that you order. If you order filters, they will be used later for replacements, I wasn't sure when I ordered if the filters were included but they were.

I ordered this fan for a desk in my home office. I paid approximately $23. It arrived today. There is no assembly (a plus). The unit is compact-about 14" tall and 8 inches in diameter at its base. It's attractive; gray plastic with neat dials for oscillation and speed control easily accessible on the front. The power cord is long enough to reach down the back and to the side of my desk for the power strip on the floor. This unit was definitely designed with a professional desk in mind-and fits in well.

It has 3 speeds and an option for oscillation. The lowest speed is powerful-perhaps a bit too powerful for the unit to be sitting directly in front of me. On low, it's blowing the vertical blinds that are 6 feet away from it. Still, this may come in handy for the Arizona heat and it's quite effective in cooling.

The unit is vibration-free, both when still and oscillating.

My sole complaint with this unit is that it is noisy. A high pitched "whirring" sound emits from the motor. The noise is far too obnoxious and intrusive at the other two settings, rendering the other two levels fairly useless. The noise is comparable to an oven hood fan (on its respective settings). I couldn't tolerate that noise all day or even for more than a few minutes. It's simply not conducive for an office environment. That's disappointing, too, especially considering that all of its other traits work to its favor and I otherwise like this fan very much.

If the noise factor were fixed, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product. It's affordable, attractive, compact, effective in cooling, and vibration free. However, as it stands, I recommend it only if the noise would not bother you.

Ionic Pro Mini Air Purifier Review

I bought one of these at Walmart I think.I was fairly pleased with the black carbon like gunk it appeared to be collecting from the air but it broke down very quickly- maybe lasted two months.

When I called the company they were VERY friendly.Until I finally got to the point that I wanted to return the unit.They stayed friendly, asking for 21.95(until cost $29 new) shipping and handling.When I expressed anger, they offered to sell me several bigger and new units for a discount.

I get the impression these break quickly and often.Read the review on the link I put in and buy something else or just burn your money.

These filters fit both our models 4251/4271 and HB's TrueAir webpage indicates these filters fit all 3 of their Odor Eliminator models. Our house has a smoker, 4 small dogs and we burn candles. Fan can be noisy unless its on the 'low' setting. Otherwise, it works great. It's easy to refill and you can actually refull it while it's running if there's a little water left. The four gallon tank means that it can run 24 hours a day and only needs to be refilled once (at least in my home!). The extra humidity has helped my home stay warm during the winter, thus reducing my heating bills.

This is one of the first home appliances I've purchased from Amazon, and while its hard to give a glowing review for something so mundane as a dehumidifier, I'm pleased with the way this one works.

Our basement is basically a finished root cellar, in a 19th Century home.We have work supplies, clothing, some exercise equipment as well as some musical instruments stored down there, so keeping the humidity level down is a critical need to preserve what we store down there.

The unit has a small footprint, takes up about the same space as a paper shredder.It's quiet, and in our cellar, which is probably no more than 700 sq ft, on the mid-level setting the unit fills up within about 48-72 hours, depending on recent weather (if it rains a lot, it fills up in less time).

The catch basin has a drainage hose in the event your basement/cellar has a central drain, or a swivel handle on the inside for easy removal and dumping.The fill level also leave enough room from the top so that water does not accidentally spill when transporting it for dumping.Overall a smart design feature.

I can't speak for the energy efficiency of the unit (though it seems to be rated well), but overall it does the job, and I am pleased with the product.I notice that the drier air in our cellar seems less musty then it did before I installed the unit.

Nice compact size-can be moved easily. Does freshen the air in the room noticeably. On whisper setting is almost silent. On Turbo setting can be heard but in no way impinges on life, maybe would sleeping. Does shoot out air but does not "blow" with any force. Over time, like a day, all the air in our 20'x20' living area changes. Did have a noticeable plastic like new odorthe first few days of use which wore off. Haven't had any build up on the collection grid in these 2 weeks, but it would be easy to clean. Now after several months of use I change my 4 stars to 1. The low setting quit. The ozone emitted gave us headaches and irritated lungs. Ozone is toxic. I returned the product for a refund.

Holmes HM1280TG-U 2.5 Gallon Cool Moisture Humidier ( HM1280 HM1280TG ) Review

I would say the noise levels are about the equivalent of a variable speed window unit air conditioner.If you're looking for dead silent operation, this unit won't do it, but if you can sleep through the background noise of an air conditioner, then this purifier shouldn't be any more intrusive.What sold me was the fact that the filters don't need to be replaced-simply vacuum every few months.On cheaper units, the replacement filters cost almost as much as the purifier.

Hunter 83001 Riazzi Bathroom Fan with Light and Nightlight, Brushed Nickel Review

I was searching for an attractive replacement for my previous bathroom light/fan combo that had a decidedly utilitarian look.I found that Hunter makes the best selection of decorative light/fan units, and this one has the most powerful fan of all the ones they offer.I was concerned that the fan might be too loud, but I got this one anyway because I needed a fan that would really move air well since we were having trouble with condensation and mildew in the bathroom.I was pleased to find that noise is not a problem at all.The fan is actually quieter than my old fan, and it is much more powerful.When I am in the bathroom I can hear it running, but it is not loud enough to be bothersome.Outside in the hallway, I don't notice the sound.It does its job of drying out the bathroom after a shower very well.

I have two relatively minor points of criticism.(1) When the light is on, you can clearly see the shadows of brackets and other internal parts of the fan through the glass band that runs along the side of the unit.This is not aesthetically pleasing.Perhaps if the side glass was thicker, the shadows would have a fuzzier, more diffuse appearance and would be less noticeable.(2) We were not able to use the nightlight function because we only have two switches on the wall and we didn't want to run new wiring in the bathroom.Rarely do I see a bathroom with three wall switches, so I suspect others may find this to be a problem as well.We could have chosen to wire the nightlight so that it would come on with either the fan or the main light, but it was hard to see what the benefit of that would be.A nice addition would be an electronic eye that turns the nightlight on when the room is dark.

Danby Premiere 70 Pint Dehumidifier DDR7009EE Review

I putchased this unit as it was specified as having three features I wanted in a basement unattended dehumidifier a) auto restart on power failure b) continous gravity drain and c) automatic defrost.When I received the unit and hooked up the continous drain hose the unit continued to fill up its bucket and auto stop when the bucket filled up.I checked several times to make sure I had hooked up the auto drain as per istructions which were very straight forward.Finally convinced I had hooked up the hose correctly I called Danby customer care in Toronto.Got through to them very quickly.The person I spoke with explained that, yes, this model was having " manufacturing problems" and many units were not auto draining, but they were working on a "fix".He offered to take my name and mail me the fix as soon as it was out.When I asked him how long the fix has been worked on and when it would be available , he responded " for several months" and " any week now".Well not willing to wait for the "fix" I asked and got my money back fromthe reseller I had bought the unit from.So before I would buy this unit ( which appeared quite solid) if the continous drain feature is important to you I would check and make sure the "fix" is in.

Paradigm System Review

I've had multiple humidifiers for my humidor and had constant trouble keeping the optimum humidity level.The paradigm system has made it easy to keep my cigars perfectly preserved.Now, when I order cigars online, I throw them in the humidor for a few weeks before smoking them.I can definitely taste the difference.I would suggest you make sure to buy the right size for your humidor though. I bought the smaller paradigm originally and had trouble keeping the humidor at the correct humidity level.However, I've had no problems since I bought the larger model.

Eva-dry Edv-1100 Electric Petite Dehumidifier with FREE Cleaning Cloth Review

I bought the Eva dehumidifier a little less than 2 years ago and it seemed to work great.I had it in an average size bedroom.It was fairly quiet and it was just the right size for my needs, as it would fill up after about 4 days.It shut off when full so no worries and was really simple & quick to empty. I was surprised at how much water it actually would accumulate - it holds a pint. I put a little hand towel under it just in case but there was never any significant leaking. On a wood nightstand, I just didn't want any moisture damage to the wood and there never was.

I would have given the product 5 stars if it had lasted a couple more years but it didn't.I know it didn't cost a lot but I think things should last a little longer than 2 yrs and now when I go looking for a new one, I have to assume I'm paying $50 for something that will work < 2 yrs and contribute to our landfills.

I started looking for a new product and I'm sad to say that the reviews for comparable are not very good.In fact, I noticed the same problem in reviews for other brands but those brands didn't even last a year!It seems to have been the same problem; one day the thing just doesn't turn back on.Mine got full so it automatically shut off.After I emptied it, it didn't turn back on.I waited a few days with it unplugged, I made sure the plug connection was good but it still doesn't turn on.Reading other brand reviews though, it seems those stopped working within days or a few months.Maybe I should be happy almost 2 yrs?

I liked the size, ease of use and fairly quiet fan, plus it didn't look that bad or bulky sitting on a nightstand.Maybe mine was a lemon and another one would last longer.I hope so because I haven't found anything better and even if I pay for a better quality, more reliable product, I haven't found one which has all the positive attributes this one had.

I should add that this unit just sat there and never had any misuse.It didn't get dropped, knocked over nor did it experience any power surges.There are many other things I own that go through abuse and I would be surprised if they lasted 2 yrs but this one I would have expected a little bit longer life from.

Again, it may have been an unlucky fluke for me but you may want to consider when buying that it may not last 2 yrs.Hope this is helpful.
