Crane Dragon Cool Mist Humidifier Review

I had originally purchased a Holmes humidifier for about $25 at Target. It died on the second use. It had only two speeds, had a filter inside that took days to dry out, and it sounded like a freight train. White noise is great for helping a restless or sick toddler sleep, but this was ridiculous! It went back to Target and I purchased one of these instead (the penguin). I loved it so much I bought the dragon within days. This humidifier is everything the comparably-priced Holmes humidifier could never be.

This humidifier is nearly silent. It has only a very very slight background hum as it runs (great white noise). The mist is wonderful and dissipates quickly into the air. The knob on the front is to adjust the mist to exactly the right setting for you. There are no filters inside to clean. I've had it running non-stop except to clean it.

Speaking of cleaning, it's very easy to do. You definitely want to clean any humidifier you buy; the water in the basin will grow algae and have a bacteria bloom so clean it at least once a week. If you follow the simple directions in the box it takes maybe five minutes.

This is great for a bedroom. The room ours is in is about 12'x12' and it's wonderfully humid within an hour at maximum output.

The only thing that took me aback a little bit is where the mist comes out. With a dragon you'd think it would come out the nostrils or mouth, right? Nope . . .top of the eyeballs. I understand why it's there (to spray the mist as high as possible for maximum dissipation) but still, it looks a little weird. Ah well. I look a little weird too but I still function perfectly. ;)

Overall, you can't go wrong with any of the Crane animal humidifiers.
