When I went to the hardware store to purchase this product, the humidifier gods were trying to tell me something. I picked up this humidifier and, to find out the price, I turned the box upside down. Much to my surprise, water came pouring out of the box and onto the floor. As I later learned, the design of this product is quite conducive to this result. When you place the filled tank onto the base it slowly empties into a base where the water is heated. This water filled base is not isolated or sealed in anyway. As a result, the water is free to slosh over the sides of the base if you so much as nudge it or change its position after filling it.
This product is therefore less then useless, it is a hazard. I returned it as soon as it had dried. Perhaps I should have left the water in it to pass the message on.
